Hand Filler Fat Transfer

Introduction

Hand filler works to restore the lost volume, minimize the visibility of veins and tendons, improve skin texture and quality for smoother skin, to reduce lines and wrinkles. The types of hand fillers known are hyaluronic acid, (Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal) and Calcium Hydroxyapatite. Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are the most commonly used dermal filler, when used as a dermal hand, hyaluronic acid base dermal filler will give a powerful volumizing effect and hydrating properties to the hand, giving it less dry and old look.

Fat Transfers

Fat grafting can represent a more permanent hand rejuvenation procedure when fat from other parts of the body is transferred into the hands to add fuller contours to the area. Even fingers can be rejuvenated with injections up to the knuckle area to add volume.

Fat Transfer to the Hand utilizes the latest VASER technology used in specialized lipo (different from liposuction) procedures to extract unwanted body fat which is then refined and carefully transferred to the hands. As we age our skin loses fat volume and elasticity. For the hands, this means thinner-looking skin with the appearance of raised blood vessels, something no amount of healthy living can resolve. Each body ages differently so it may not be an issue for some but for those concerned about the look and feel of their hands, the Fat Transfer procedure affords patients the hands they feel great about.

A small amount of fat is harvested under local anesthetic from a discrete part of your body (typical areas used include: inner thighs, abdomen, and flanks).  The fat is then filtered and injected into the back of the hands via a tiny cannula under local anesthetic. The cannula is specialized to avoid any damage to the arteries and to avoid as much tissue disruption as possible.

Once the fat has integrated into the tissue of the back of the hands, it remains there permanently (as long as weight is maintained).  There is no scarring and it is a walk-in walk-out procedure with no downtime. This is in contrast to filler treatments that need to be repeated every 6-9 months.

Filler Fat Transfer

Advantage of Hand fillers

It can be injected superficially into the dermal layer of the skin at multiple points. The filler used is often ‘runny’ allowing it to spread over larger areas before toughening up. Fillers here can add a youthfulness to the hands- one of the major giveaways to one’s true age and can last as long as 2 years. The best part, due to little superficial innervation across the dorsal aspects of the hands the procedure is virtually painless

Other advantage include:

  • Restore the youthful appearance of the hands
  • Plumps up the sunken-looking hands
  • Reduces the appearance of tendons and vein
  • Hydrates the skin from within to reduce wrinkles and lines
  • Improve texture
  • Non-surgical treatment with no incision, no scarring
  • A 30-minute procedure in the clinic with a natural result can be seen right away.

Other Body Part that Can Treat By Dermal Filler

Temporary fillers can be injected in places other than the face, which may also have experienced volume loss – including the hands, neck, and décolleté. Several soft tissue injectable fillers can restore volume to the back of the hands, including Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, and Restylane®. It can provide a significant improvement to the appearance of the aging hand, obscuring or softening the appearance of veins and tendons, creating an appearance of plump skin with a youthful fullness.
